Leopard

Grey chunky knit cropped jumper: c/o Next (similar)
Pleather midi skirt: Pretty Little Thing (similar)
Croc print chunky heeled shoes: c/o FandF
Purple floral phone case: c/o Inconemesis

Can I just say how utterly amazing is this coat? So warm and snuggly! I managed to snag an invite to the Florence and Fred SS preview throw work and we were very kindly given a voucher in the goodie bag. I'd seen this coat on other blogs and knew immediately it had to be mine. It's such a bargain at under £40. It's a good job we don't have a clothing section in my local Tesco as i'd be spending an absolute fortune. I've recently upgraded to an iPhone 5 - so with the times I know! - so it must have been fate when Iconemesis emailed to see if I wanted to try out a new phone case. I went for a floral design and thought the colours seemed lovely and wintery.

This weekend will be spent with lots of cinema trips to see The Hunger Games and a sneak preview of Paddington tomorrow in London. I think i'm more excited by the latter if i'm honest. Paddington's a cheeky chap isn't he? Other than that I have a hot date with my best friend tonight in the form of pjs, apple pie and a takeaway. The only way to watch The X Factor.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Won't you stay with me? 'Cause you're all I need

Outfit:
Quilted faux leather jacket: Zara (similar)
Grey polo neck jumper: Primark (similar)
Jacquard black and silver floral midi skirt: c/o Poppy Lux
Croc effect chunky heeled pointed courts: c/o Florence and Fred

When this skirt popped through my letterbox, I immediately thought of Christmas. There's just something about the metallic colours that scream the festive season to me. I think it's a keeper for Christmas Day. There's plenty of room to scoff down an insane amount of cheese and biscuits on the big day. What more could you want? Etail PR have come to the rescue!

I can't get over how fast November is creeping past. I feel like I'm going to blink and it's going to be December. My diary is starting to fill up with lots of Christmas get togethers and my shopping list is fast getting ticked off. I have a trip to Bruges in a few weeks which I'm extremely excited about. I'm not usually much of a Christmas fan - working in retail kinda sucks it out of you. But this year I'm enjoying seeing all the mince pies and Christmas trees pop up in shops. Working in food has meant that I've already had my fill of festive treats since the beginning of the month - long may it continue!

Return of the Mac

Outfit:
Red and white striped tee: c/o Florence and Fred (similar)
Light wash skinny jeans: New Look
Beige long trench coat: Zara (similar)
White chucks: Converse c/o Tower London

I went along to the Tower London press breakfast a few weeks ago - fell head over heels for the Melissa x Vivienne Westwood boots below -  to have a sneaky look at all the a/w gems they have coming in to store. They had some amazing boots and some really great brands. I was especially taken with the floral Doc Martens - the pattern is amazing right? Tower London are definitely a shop to look out for if you're looking to treat yourself to some new boots. They have something for everyone! I was very lucky to win these Converse in a competition they were running on the day and they've hardly left my feet! I opted for the classic white as they go with absolutely everything.

Lets run away, get out of here. I got no money and I don't care.

Outfit:
Baby blue textured midi skirt: Topshop (similar)
White jersey crop top: Topshop (similar)
White chunky heeled courts: c/o Florence and Fred (similar)

It's been a while since I've embraced the crop top but I found this during a tidy up and was a little ashamed to see it still had the tags on it. Crop tops and full midi skirts are one of my favourite combinations to wear. It still looks classy but a little bit cheeky too. I'm never one to show a lot of flesh but this is a trend I can get on board with. I still feel a little covered up which is a plus for a 25-year-old granny. I can't be the only one who goes on a night out and wants to give the young girls my coat to cover their skimpy outfits? They look so cold!

Tesco got in touch to see if I would like to take part in a special Mother's Day challenge where I get to pick an outfit insipired by my mum. I obviously jumped at the chance as my beautiful mum is one of my most favourite people in the world. She's honestly my best friend. I sometimes think she knows me better than I know myself. Although I know that statement is likely to give her a very big head! I'm an only child and as a result i'm very close to both my parents. I love spending time with my mum and we often make out sunday morning ritual to scour the bootsales looking for junk that makes my dad tear his hair out. She enjoys stuffing her face just as much as do and gives me honest advice without holding back. Sometimes you need to hear that your current hairstyle is getting a bit boring!

So where have I taken my inspiration from? As long as I can rememeber my mother scrubs up extremely well when she's heading off out. We both like to longue around in our PJs at the weekend though if we're in the house! She takes great effort in keeping up to date with the trends whilst still being age appropriate. My mum loves a a knee length/ midi dress, something I find myself always gravitating towards. I just think it looks very elegant and classy. My mum isn't afraid of braving patterns and loves something that makes a statement.  She always loves a court shoe. Go in her wardrobe and you'll get a serious injury when you open the door and all these heels come falling down! I've chosen a black court shoe as she always says you can't have too many black shoes! Sound advice there guys!

Some of the quality isn't too good but here are a few more pictures of my mum and I through the years. Thanks for being such a star mum!

I'm gonna pick up the pieces and build a lego house

Red belted full coat: Florence and Fred (similar)
Floral sheer shirt:Primark (similar)
Black skinny jeans: Primark (similar)
Black leather penny loafers: Office (similar)
Neon Orange nail polish: Colour Club
Black Bayswater: Mulberry

After 6 months cold turkey I feel off the wagon spectacularly and stumbled into Primark and somehow came out with a massive bag. I have no idea how it happened and I managed to spend a small fortune but boy did I come out with some gems. I was hunting for the infamous gingham skirt - which I found hurrah! - and obviously had to have a mooch. This pretty shirt was in the bag of swag. I thought it'd be perfect for my upcoming trip to NYC and picked it up in cream too. They were £12 each so it would have been criminal if I didn't pick them up. It's really simple and goes perfect with a pair of skinnies for a casual weekend. My mum very kindly treated me to this gorgeous coat last month. It was reduced to £25 in the sale - say what? Bargain!

The weekend was pretty chilled considering it was payday. I spent it watching the Book Thief crying - so sad - and eating lots of food and drinking lots of wine at a girly night in on Saturday. It was very much needed although my waistline is currently groaning. I had a delicious Sunday lunch yesterday locally as we took my boyfriend's nan out for a belated birthday present. Lots of eating always makes a fun weekend!

Do you all have a nice weekend?

F&F A/W preview

Last week the ever so wonderful Sarah invited me along to the Autumn Winter preview of F&F at tesco as her plus one. I've been to one  before so knew I would be in for a treat and I wasn't mistaken! I am always impressed by the beautiful clothes and how good the quality is. There were so many things - the tweed jackets in particular - that could have passed for Zara. The touch didn't feel like it was from a supermarket and I have no idea how they can keep the clothes so reasonably priced when they look this good. I'm not complaining though! I completely fell in love the Wednesday Addams - esque dress with the white collar and cuffs and will be keeping my beady eye out for it on the website. The matching cameo necklace and earrings have my name written all over them.

I'm considering treating myself to the black sequin pencil skirt to wear on Christmas eve - it's one occasion when you have to be sparkly! I've fallen head over heels for this boucle jacket but alas with Christmas coming up I can't justify it - times are tight with present buying. Suppose i'll just have to start selling more of my life on eBay...

How gorgeous does Lily's eyelashes look eh?

Aisling, Elodie and I really are just too cool for school. Aisling is completely rocking that beard.
